Our Emergency Lighting workshop is delivered in line with statutory legislation, British Standard BS5266-1:2011 and current industry best practice. Our course is also fully updated to reflect the requirements of BS7671:2008 (2015) 17th Edition Wiring Regulations Amendment No.3.

Our interactive workshop will give you the skills to design and install a compliant emergency lighting system including emergency escape lighting and standby lighting.

There is no formal assessment during this course.

Darren Bakewell

Darren joined our team in 2017, and has years of industry experience.

During his career Darren has trained a wide range of electrical and H&S qualifications and has supported the development of electrical apprentices and experienced electricians.

Jon Grocock

Jon has worked in the electrical industry since leaving school and starting an electrical apprenticeship with Midlands Electricity Board (MEB). After qualifying and working as an electrician for a number of years he specialised in the security industry, installing systems including CCTV, door entry systems, intruder and fire alarms. After progressing to Project Engineer Jon took the opportunity of a complete change in career and moved into training.

Jon has worked in training since 2003 and is now responsible for Quality Assurance, Training Delivery and Course Management. Jon still plays an active role in delivery and specializes in:

  • City & Guilds 2382-15 17th Edition
  • City & Guilds 2394 / 2395 Inspection and Testing
  • EAL Level 3 Inspection and Testing
  • City & Guilds 2396 Design, Erection & Verification

What happens if I fail an assessment?

You will have a very good chance of passing your assessments at the first attempt as our courses are very thorough and our tutors are there to guide and support you.

If it doesn’t go right for you on the day the main thing, is not to worry – it happens from time to time.

Your tutor will review your score with you and you may just need to review your notes again and sit the exam a couple of days later. This is often all that’s needed.

If you and your tutor feel you need a little more support we can agree some extra 1-1 training for you.

Whatever happens we want you to enjoy our courses and come away with the qualification that you wanted. Our tutors and staff will always be there to support and advise you.
