About this course…

The 2357 level 3 NVQ diploma is made up of a mixture of knowledge and performance units.  The knowledge units are assessed via on-line exams and assignments whilst the performance units are assessed by on-site visits in the workplace.

Depending on the certificates you have already achieved you will be exempt from completing some of the 2357 knowledge units. You may therefore only require two additional knowledge units.

Who is it suitable for?

Anyone who wishes to become a fully qualified electrician that has previously achieved a City & Guilds 2365 Level 3 certificate.

There are no formal entry requirements.  However, you will need access to a workplace where you can be assessed to meet the requirements of the performance units assessment units.

Assessments

Knowledge Assessments

You will need to study and then be assessed in a number of Knowledge units depending on your prior achievement. Units will be assessed by multiple choice test and written/practical assignments.

 

Performance Assessments

You will need a series of assessments to prove that you are operating on site at the level of an electrician. You will also need to prove that you have covered a suitable range of work e.g three different types of wiring system to a commercially acceptable standard.  You will demonstrate your performance though assessor observations and professional discussion with your assessor.

You will also need to complete the AM2 test to complete this Diploma.

Rich has over 30 years of industry experience having completed an electrical apprenticeship with a Property Service Agency and subsequently worked in a variety of roles within his own Electrical Business.

Through his own business, Rich has 25 years experience in training and supporting a number of electrical apprentices.

Rich now supports our apprentices to achieve their qualifications.

Rob Glover

Rob started his career by completing an electrical apprenticeship with a local company before working as a self-employed electrician. Rob has since worked as an Approved Electrician, Qualifying Supervisor and Electrical Training Officer.

Having worked in the training industry since 2007 Rob is an experienced Tutor and NVQ Assessor.

As well as being part of our apprenticeship delivery team Rob specializes in the delivery and assessment of Inspection and Testing and Portable Appliance Testing courses.

Shaun Eardely

Shaun is a qualified tutor and assessor with a wealth of experience in the electrical contracting industry.  Having run his own business and worked for some established contracting companies Shaun is well placed to add ‘something extra’ to his course delivery.

Shaun is a very approachable trainer and able to relate training sessions to customers work, making it more enjoyable and easier to learn.

What happens if I fail an assessment?

You will have a very good chance of passing your assessments at the first attempt as our courses are very thorough and our tutors are there to guide and support you.

If it doesn’t go right for you on the day the main thing, is not to worry – it happens from time to time.

Your tutor will review your score with you and you may just need to review your notes again and sit the exam a couple of days later. This is often all that’s needed.

If you and your tutor feel you need a little more support we can agree some extra 1-1 training for you.
