Course Description

The AM2E V1.1 is a 2.5 day assessment for experienced workers who were registered for the Experienced Worker Assessment after 3rd September 2023. Please Note: Costs for AM2 assessments will increase annually.

Overview

Successful completion of the AM2E V1.1 helps to demonstrate that candidates have reached a level of competence in the following key occupational areas:

Risk assessments and health and safety
Safe isolation
The interpretation of specifications, drawings and diagrams
Planning and preparing to install, terminate and connect identified wiring systems
Installing, terminating and connecting identified wiring systems
Inspection, testing and certification
Fault diagnosis and correction of electrical faults
The understanding and application of industry recognised procedures, working practices and the requirements of statutory and non-statutory regulations.

During the main installation you will be expected to install, terminate, connect, inspect, test and commission:

A three-phase distribution board and sub-circuit
A three-phase Direct-on-Line Motor circuit
Single phase lighting and power circuits
A central heating/sustainable energy system
A safety services circuit and device
A data-cabling system

Assessments

AM2E Assessments:

The assessment consists of 17 hours of practical assessments (sections A - D) and a 90 minute Knowledge Test (section E) over 2.5 days.

Frequently Asked Questions

What do I need to bring with me on the day of my assessment?

Photo ID (either passport or driving licence)

Appropriate workwear and safety footwear is required.

You will not be able to take the AM2 Assessment if you arrive without any of the above

Is there car parking available?

At Rebus we have Free car parking available on site.

Are there any canteen facilities?

We have a kitchen area available, for you to get a hot drink or water.

Drink and snack vending machines are available in our kitchen area. Microwaves are also available for candidates to use.

How long does the assessment last?

The assessment is completed over three days. During which you will complete a number of practical assessments and an on-line exam. The assessment hours are 7:30 am to 4 pm.

Can I use reference materials during the on-line exam?

Yes. You will be provided with the following books to use during your exam.

Do I need to bring my own tools?

All tools you need to complete the assessment are provided for you. If you prefer you can use your own wire strippers, side cutters and pliers during the assessment (all tools must be insulated with non-removable insulation and not damaged). The centre can refuse the use of personal tools if the tools are damaged i.e. if the metal of handle is touchable through damaged insulation.

Will I be able to get any extra time?

To schedule any extra time, evidence of the above reasons is required at the point of booking your test. Once the evidence has been received, the agreed extra time will be confirmed with you.

Is there anywhere to keep my belongings?

During your test you will be provided with a locker for your phone and valuable items. Please note you are not permitted to use the following items during your test.

When will I receive my results?

Your results will be emailed directly to you within 5 days of completing the test.

How will I receive my Certificate?

Your certificate is posted directly to you by NET, to the address you provide on your registration form.
