About this course…
The STANDARD Domestic Electrical Installer programme consists of three approved Level 3 qualifications. The City & Guilds and LCL Awards qualifications have been selected to match the technical competence requirements of the Electrotechnical Assessment Specification and Competent Person Schemes (NICEIC, NAPIT and STROMA).
When do I have to attend?
You will attend training on Tuesday evenings, Wednesday evenings and full day Saturday workshops as per our course schedule.
This will equate to approximately 36 days of training that you will need to attend in addition to some home study.
Whats covered on this course?
LCL Awards Level 3 - Certificate in Installing, Testing and Ensuring Compliance of Electrical Installations in Dwellings
This course will be delivered by a combination of taught sessions and practical workshops. You will also need to self-study before or during the course for units such as Health & Safety / Environmental. The following nine assessments/units are covered:
1 – Health, Safety and Environmental Legislation, Practices and Procedures of Electrical Installations
2 – Planning, Preparation and Organisation of Electrical Installations
3 – Installation and Connection of Wiring Systems in Electrical Installations
4 – Inspection and Testing of Electrical Installations
5– Diagnosing and Correction of Faults in Electrical Installations
6 – Inspection and Testing & Fault Finding (practical)
7 – Design Assignment
8 – On-Site Portfolio - you will need to show evidence of actual site experience for this unit
9 – Simulated Electrical Installation (optional)
City & Guilds 2382-22 - Level 3 18th Edition Wiring Regulations Amendment 2
For this qualification, you will have the option of attending a 3-day course here at Rebus or a City & Guilds / IET online course that
you can complete at a time and pace to suit you.
City & Guilds 2391-50 - Level 3 Inspection & Testing - Initial Verification
Through theory and practical workshops, you will learn how to inspect and test 1-phase and 3-phase installations including the completion of
the Electrical Installation Certificate.

Course entry requirements
Although there are no formal entry requirements to start this programme, you should have an eagerness to learn new skills and an aptitude for practical ‘hands-on work’. During, or on completion of your training you will need to gain site experience to demonstrate that you can work competently in a real work environment.
This course has a minimum age requirement of 18.

Practical assessment
2.5 hr practical assessment of an electrical installation comprising single and 3 phase circuits. You will be required to inspect and test the installation and complete an Electrical Installation Certificate.
