About this course.
Aimed at experienced electricians this course will give you an overview of the wide range of equipment and systems available for this type
of specialised installation. You will be guided through the IET code of Practice for Electric Vehicle Charging Equipment Installation
through worked examples, job based scenarios and discussion.
Key learning outcomes for this course are:
- Know the key documentation and legislation in relation to electric vehicle supply equipment (EVSE)
- Know different types and features of EVSE
- Understand design considerations for EVSE installations

Understand testing, commissioning and handover requirements specific to the installation of electric vehicle charging equipment and
circuits in domestic and small commercial settings
- Understand the use of vehicles as electrical energy storage systems as part of prosumer’s installations

This course in intended for electricians and those with responsibility for EV charging point installations. By completing this
course, electricians can enhance their expertise in regard to EV charging infrastructure, with the aim of ensuring safe and efficient

Course entry requirements?
This course is intended for electricians unable to meet the industry entry requirements outlined in the Electrotechnical Assessment
Specification (EAS) i.e you do not have a formal electrical installation NVQ 3, apprenticeship or relevant ECS Gold Card.
This course is not suitable for those that do not have prior electrical training and experience.
