About this course…
During our 6-day course, you will learn to inspect and test new electrical installations in compliance with key industry documents such as
IET BS7671 and Guidance Notes 3. You will work on a variety of test rigs to give you a wide range of experience prior to completing your
assessments.
Theory classes and inspection and testing workshops will improve your understanding and enable you to accurately and competently complete
the Electrical Installation Certificate and associated Schedules.
Who is it suitable for?
The course is ideal for Electricians and Domestic Installers that wish to improve their knowledge and application of inspection and
testing. Electricians looking to improve their career prospects and those working towards ‘Qualified Supervisor’ status should also
consider this course. If you aim to apply for ‘Approved Electrician’ grading with the JIB you will need to achieve 2391-52 (Combined
Initial and Periodic). Competent Person Schemes will also require you to have the 2391-52 if you wish to complete Conditon Reports through
them.

Course entry requirements?
This qualification must not be taken by learners new to the industry who do not possess sufficient skills, knowledge, and experience to
undertake inspection and testing safely and competently. This qualification is also not suitable for learners with limited experience of
working in the electrotechnical sector, or who do not already hold relevant Level 3 electrotechnical qualifications.
To complete this course it is recommended that you have a good working knowledge of BS7671 (18th Edition) and have recent practical
experience of inspection and testing.
If you have little experience of testing you will benefit from attending a 1 day testing refresher prior to the course which is available
for just £160 + VAT.
